ABOUT US
ABOUT US
Kerstin has been a licensed social worker since 1994 and a licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2010. She has worked in the Social work field in Worthington and Windom areas.
Stephanie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and a Certified Adlerian Life Coach. She is also endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Specialist and specializes with children ages birth-5-years-old. Stephanie has over 10 years of experience in the field and has worked in many capacities.
As an intern, Stephanie learned from many great providers shadowing and working within a private practice, working at a transitional home for homeless youth in Saint Paul, Minnesota, running Illness Management and Recovery groups at a behavioral health unit and providing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic services at a community mental health clinic. As an intern, she also wrote a grant and designed a program that provided 2 years of therapeutic art programming for clients with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).
Since graduating with her first Masters degree, Stephanie has provided in-home family therapy throughout Southwest Minnesota, provided therapy through telehealth/telemedicine, worked as a county manager for a community mental health clinic in Worthington, Minnesota, provided support as the Children’s Program Director at a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, and most recently, acted as the Clinical Director at a Certified Behavioral Health Clinic and the Interim Team Lead for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team.
Stephanie is completing a doctoral program in Infant and Early Childhood Development with an emphasis on mental health disorders. She is currently in the “All-But-Dissertation” phase of her program. She believes that continued learning makes her a better provider for her clients and their families. She loves to share the learning process with new providers to the field and is a board-certified supervisor through the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
Stephanie believes that it is essential to have parents be part of her work with children and work on building the relationship to make changes for the child and the family. She believes that movement including yoga, brain gyms, and other expressive works including therapeutic art benefit the client and families. She values the serenity of the outdoors and engages in hiking, kayaking, and planting flowers for her personal self-care.
